PKU Pioneer, also known as Beijing Peking University Pioneer Technology Corporation Ltd., has been a trailblazer in the field of gas separation and purification technologies in China. Established with the support of Peking University, PKU Pioneer specializes in the research and development of VPSA (Vacuum Pressure Swing Adsorption) and PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption) gas separation and energy-saving & environmental protection technologies, as well as the design, manufacture and engineering construction of complete sets of equipment.

PKU Pioneer provides advanced and sophisticated gas separation solutions for the chemical industry, iron and steel, non-ferrous metallurgy, glass, glass fibre, paper making, cement, new energy, waste incineration, water treatment, etc. Up to date, over 400 sets of medium/large-scale units have been built, with their performance reaching the international advanced standard.

Core Technologies and Products

  1. VPSA/PSA Oxygen Generation Plants
    Based on the Independently developed and produced lithium-based oxygen molecular sieve PU-8, PKU Pioneer successfully developed VPSA/PSA oxygen production technology, which was awarded the first prize of Science and Technology Progress by the Ministry of Education of China in 2006. PKU Pioneer has built the most VPSA-O2 plants in China, including the world’s largest VPSA oxygen plant whose flow reaches 100,000Nm3/h.
    With lower overall cost than cryogenic air separation units and liquid oxygen, VPSA/PSA oxygen unit has become a preferred solution to industrial oxygen supply with preponderances such as higher flexibility, reliability and durability, faster startup and shutdown, higher degree of automation, etc.
  2. PSA CO and H2 Purification Plants
    PKU Pioneer has developed PSA purification technology to separate high-purity carbon monoxide (CO) and hydrogen (H2) from feed gases including BFG (blast furnace gas), BOFG (basic oxygen furnace gas) and COG (coke oven gas), etc.PKU Pioneer solved the problem of high-purity CO separation (up to 99.99%) from feed gases with high N2 and CH4 contents. It can be used to synthesize ethylene glycol, butyl alcohol, acetic acid, acetic anhydride, formic acid, oxalic acid, oxalacetate, dimethyl formamide, dimethyl carbonate, TDI and MDI, etc.PKU Pioneer’s new PSA-H2 purification technology is able to separate H2 product gas (up to 99.999%) with high yield rate, low operating cost and convenient load adjustment. It’s widely used for chemical synthesis, petroleum refining and modern coal chemical industry to greatly save energy and uplift efficiency.
